Sign-on Policy for the SanctionsKill CAMPAIGN
1. The SanctionsKill campaign may sign on to letter or campaigns regarding issues clearly aligned with our mission of respect for peace and non-interference in the national sovereignty and internal affairs of countries, and the elimination of all economic coercive measures.
2. Consistent with our objective of defending various countries’ national sovereignty, the SanctionsKill campaign will not sign on to statements or campaigns which demand that any sovereign state perform specific tasks. The only exception is when targeted states have a history of imperialist action against other peoples and states, as do the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other leading NATO countries and partners, such as Australia and Japan.
3. The SanctionsKill campaign may also endorse letters and campaigns aimed at protecting the rights of activists and social movements in the aforementioned imperialist countries to exercise free speech and their democratic rights to peacefully advocate for a more just world.
4. When we are asked to sign on to a statement or campaign regarding issues clearly aligned with our mission, individual activists within our coalition may post the proposal on the SanctionsKill listserv for comment. If there are no objections within 24 hours, we may sign on to the campaign. If there are objections, we can discuss to see if consensus can be reached.
